How to choose a screen fabric

  • For a premium, natural feel: choose wool, either Camira Blazer, Blazer Lite or Abbotsford Melton.
  • For sustainability: choose Camira Lucia, made from 100% recycled polyester, or Blazer, which has an EU Ecolabel.
  • For acoustic screens and wall panels: choose an acoustically transparent fabric such as Lucia or Cara. It lets sound pass through to the sound-absorbing core behind, so the screen absorbs more noise.
  • For value and the Edge range: choose Cara or Mac 182.
  • For the most colour choice: Abbotsford Melton comes in 100 colours.

Fire ratings explained

All our screen fabrics are made for commercial interiors. Crib 5 is a demanding UK flammability test for contract furniture fabrics. BS 476 Part 7 Class 1 measures how slowly flame spreads across a surface. EN 13501-1 Class B-s1,d0 is the European rating for very limited contribution to fire, with low smoke and no flaming droplets. Check each swatch card for the exact rating of each fabric, or ask us if your project needs a specific certificate.

Frequently asked questions

Are fabric samples free?

Yes. Order your fabric samples and we will post them to you so you can check colours before ordering.

Which fabric is best for acoustic screens?

Choose an acoustically transparent fabric such as Camira Lucia or Camira Cara. They let sound pass through to the sound-absorbing core, so the screen absorbs more noise.

Which screen fabrics are fire rated?

All our screen fabrics are made for commercial use. For example, Abbotsford Melton is Crib 5 certified, Camira Cara is BS 476 Part 7 Class 1, and Camira Lucia is EN 13501-1 Class B-s1,d0. Check each swatch card for full details.

Can you match my brand colour?

With six fabrics and hundreds of colours between them, we can usually get very close. Order swatch cards or send us your brand colour and we will suggest the best match.

Which fabric is the most sustainable?

Camira Lucia is made from 100% recycled polyester from post-consumer textile waste, and Camira Blazer is a natural, renewable wool with an EU Ecolabel.
