How we work it out

Front screens

One between each pair of facing desks, the same width as the desk. Rows with a walkway behind get a screen at the back of each desk.

Side screens

One between each pair of neighbouring desks. Around 700mm wide for 600mm deep desks, 900mm for 800mm deep desks.

Floor screens

Length to screen divided by screen width, rounded up. Linked screens can turn corners.

Frequently asked questions

How many desk screens do I need?

For facing desks you need one front screen between each facing pair, plus side screens between desks that sit next to each other if you want privacy on both sides. A bank of 4 desks facing 4 needs 4 front screens and 6 side screens.

What width should a desk screen be?

Usually the same width as the desk, so a 1400mm desk takes a 1400mm screen. Side screens are normally around 700mm for 600mm deep desks and 900mm for 800mm deep desks.

How many freestanding screens do I need to divide a room?

Divide the length you want to screen by the screen width. For example, a 6 metre run needs five 1200mm screens. Linked screens can also turn corners to form L and U shapes.

Can you check my numbers?
