Call Centre Desk Screens

Call centres & contact centres

In a busy call centre, every voice adds to the noise. Acoustic desk screens absorb speech at each workstation, so agents hear their callers – not the person next to them – and customers hear less background noise.

Recommended screens for call centres

Taller, thicker acoustic screens absorb the most speech. These are the ranges call centres choose most.

Why call centres use acoustic screens

Clearer calls

Less crosstalkScreens absorb the voice of the agent next door before it reaches your headset.
Quieter backgroundCustomers hear less room noise behind each agent.
Less raised voicesWhen the room is calmer, agents speak more quietly – and the room gets calmer still.

Better for agents

PrivacyTaller screens block the view of colleagues opposite, so agents can focus.
Less fatigueLower noise levels make long shifts less tiring.
Tidy desksScreens hide cables and can be fitted with brackets that leave room for monitor arms.

Planning tips for call centre screens

Go taller

Choose 450–600mm above the desk so the screen sits at head height, where speech is loudest.

Screen both sides

On bench desks, add side screens between agents as well as front screens between rows.

Treat the room

Add acoustic wall panels to cut echo, and phone booths for private calls.

Frequently asked questions

What height desk screen is best for a call centre?

For phone-based teams we recommend 450–600mm above the desk. Taller screens sit at head height, where they absorb more of each agent’s voice and block the view of colleagues opposite.

Do acoustic desk screens reduce call centre noise?

Yes. Acoustic screens have a sound-absorbing core that soaks up speech instead of reflecting it across the room, so each agent’s calls travel less far. They absorb sound rather than block it completely, so for very noisy rooms combine them with wall panels.

How do the screens fit to call centre desks?

Most screens clamp to the desk edge with 28mm, 50mm or 70mm clamps, or fit with bench brackets on back-to-back desks. Floating brackets leave room for monitor arms.

Can you supply a whole call centre?
